The course is, for all intents and purposes, taught at a college level and requires a tremendous amount of reading and preparation for every class session. Students are to read and take notes (outline, terms, or graphic organizers) on the assigned chapters in addition to completing an evidence based flowchart in preparation for the weekly debate. These flow charts are an exercise in historical argumentation in preparation for the LEQ and DBQ on the AP Exam. Flowcharts should include a clear position statement, three statements of structure, and 6 pieces of evidence that defend the position.
